Ford Fiesta Gets An Updated Entry-Level Trim

The UK’s most popular car, the Ford Fiesta, is getting a refreshed spec for the out-going entry-level trim ‘Zetec’.

The current basic trim level ‘Zetec’ is being phased out and replaced by the ‘Trend’ trim on all new Ford Fiestas. Ford projects that of the 100,000 Fiesta’s sold in the UK per year, one in four will be purchased in the new ‘Trend’ specification.

Buyers will be able to purchase three and five-door Fiesta’s in Trend guise for delivery from August 2019, with pricing starting from £15,995 On The Road. As standard, owners will get black & silver 16-inch alloy wheels, privacy glass and a choice from 6 metallic paint colours in addition to existing Zetec features. Those looking at the entry-level trim will be getting a 1.1-Litre petrol engine producing 85PS.

The Trend also comes with a host of safety features, such as a speed limiter, a lane keeping aid, automatic headlights and MyKey. The latter lets the driver configure items such as top speed and maximum audio volume for drivers with the second MyKey – a handy feature for parent’s with newly-qualified teenagers.
