Ryan McNaught, a certified LEGO Professional, led a team of nine people to build the car. It took 1,300 hours to complete by hand, using a total of 320,000 bricks.
McNaught commented: “We’ve loved the challenge of this project. The car is shaped with a considerable amount of curved lines, making it a tough but interesting build. From the working lights and indicators to intricate LEGO® Honda logos, the detail on the model has been a fun one for us to work on”.
The framework for the model consists of a steel structure for stability, upon which the standard LEGO bricks were glued together. It also has working headlights, daytime running lights, fog lights, hazard lights, brake lights and reversing lights – all operational from a tablet.
McNaught is judging on the upcoming TV show LEGO MASTERS, first aired on April 28th.
